Default Which year is best -20k?

Hi everyone - trying to decide which year/ mileage would be the best way to go? Would love to hear your thoughts! 2010-12 with lower miles or 2013-2015 with higher miles! And, warranty or no warranty?

hi woody, best scenario would be a 2013 and above with 100k on clock, with great service records....
I own a 2010 love the car and the simplicity. I dont miss some of the interior upgrades of the newer version and I like that at the time I saved 12-15k over the newer version

good examples of a 2010-12 can be had for 15k , try to find one with the control arms replaced by Lexus....

either route of newer or older, make sure the car wasn't painted or hit w repairs In accident

good luck

The consensus among LS460 royalty is that the 2013-17 years, especially the last two years of production, are the best for the car. It makes sense since most of the issues they discovered in previous years were addressed by then. But the ‘15-17 cars are a lot more expensive. I’d say that the ‘15-17 cars are what a bank CEO would drive, the 2013-15 models are what a bank VP would drive, a 2011-12 would be a bank regional managers car, and a 2007-2009 would be an assistant bank manager’s car. A 2010 AWD would be a homeless vagrant’s car, judging from what people say about it.

,
remember regardless of title, people not Ceo's , vp's or manager, buy what resonates to them and what they decide is a budget to purchase a vehicle to meet their needs at time.
. another factor is finding a unicorn car in color, paint, and meticulously kept with service records.. so I would rather be a regional manager any day than a Ceo or VP.... the reason: I get smiles 4 days a week watching the VP's stare at my car.

They get better every year, so buy the newest one in the best shape you can find.

If you don't care too much about mileage, find a 2013+. Keep looking around and one may come up with under 100K for the price you want.

Very true. But, be very careful when you find it to make sure it is what it appears to be. Often a car is priced lower for a reason.

Woody I'm about to make a very similar decision towards end of this year; for the money, I think a 2011 or 2012 is the best bang for the buck. However, for longevity, I'm leaning towards a 16-17...yes they cost more, but I hear a lot less issues overall.
Warranty - usually unnecessary, control arms seem to be the main usual suspect for models up to 2010 I believe.

I suggest you go for a 13+ model since they have most of the issues worked out and more updated tech. I have a 2014 and a 2011 so I can compare both. My 2014 is much nicer to drive.

They are very different cars. 50 per cent of the car’s components have been redesigned or replaced. There are 3000 mechanical or component changes.

So in LS400 terms, would it be like the change from 90-94 to 95-97, or more like the change from 95-97 to 98-00? Seems like the difference between 95-97 and 98-00 except the drivetrain hasn’t changed in the LS460’s case.
