Default Can wheel alignment fix this?

Hi guys,

I recently purchased a custom steering wheel for my 14 LS460. The wheels core is an oem LS460 wheel which is customizable by the consumer.

Prior to removal of the factory wheel that came with the car; I had marked the center of the steering shaft. Installing the new custom wheel it actually tends to sit one spline over from dead center either if I install it left or right. I actually installed towards the left.

My wheel alignment is perfectly straight. When I put the steering wheel dead center, the wheels tend to pull to the right.

WILL a WHEEL ALIGNMENT FIX THIS ISSUE?

or

WILL I HAVE TO FIND A WAY TO ADJUST THE STEERING COLUMN/SHAFT ITSELF?

Wheel sitting to the left; it actually sits close to 10 o’clock position once the car starts moving. This pic depicts 11 1/2 o’clock

Yes. They merely need to adjust toe with the steering wheel locked level. It's a simple adjustment of the left and right tie rods equal amounts in opposite directions to bring the steer ahead angle to zero with the steering wheel also level.

A wheel alignment should fix it. I just had one done yesterday because my steering wheel was sitting at the same position and my car was wandering. But that's because I just put new tie rods on.

Another thought, I had this happen when I removed my steering wheel during dash removal. I just made sure the wheels were straight then took the steering wheel off and realigned it. Is funny because whenever I turned my car off the steering wheel would slight mean left before it locked. Even before I removed it.

Have you tried reinstalling one spline clockwise first?

yes, for some reason it will not push into the steering shaft unless I turn the steering wheel one spline over. It’s like the the middle spline is locked or the splines within the wheel are not dead center from factory

have tried doing this but the wheel itself does not engage into splines at dead center

Normal. I eplaced an OEM wheel with OEM on an IS-F and the spline was a little off. Alignment fixed it.
