Steering wheel position and alignment issue
So I have a few questions about my steering wheel and the alignment of my car. I’ll put as much info as I think is relevant but can add more if needed. Thanks in advance. Car is a 2011 ISF on stock suspension.
I noticed when I first installed my aftermarket steering wheel that it was maybe three or so degrees offset counter clockwise. I then replaced it with another aftermarket wheel which had the same exact fitment, slightly offset counter clockwise. I’m very familiar with the process of aligning the wheel on the metal splines and can confirm that I am not rotated one too far. If I unbolt the wheel and shift the position clockwise one spline it sits about 10 degrees or so off center, so I know it is not that. My first steering wheel had a blue ring on the top and that’s what I first noticed being off centered. It’s such a small amount that’s it’s not a major concern, but driving it on a daily basis drives me insane from an OCD point of view.
Also, I thought my car pulled ever so slightly to the left and realized I had some pretty significant tire wear. I was planning on replacing my tires in the spring anyways so instead, I opted to put my winter tires on and have my car aligned. My alignment is within acceptable/normal specs and I believe for the most part my car drives straight without any wheel inputs. I have no suspension mods to date other than USRS (installed by RR Racing themselves), though I do plan on installing Swift springs on the front when I get my new summer tires mounted. I run a very conservative winter set up (225s all around on 18x8 TSW Nurburgring +35) and think that this may contribute to my car pulling to the natural angle of the road.
Has anyone else had the same issue with an aftermarket wheel being slightly offset? Both my steering wheels came from Elvin so that should speak to the quality alone. My thought is maybe some of the splines are different amongst 2IS years- it fits but doesn’t align properly? Just a thought..
I vaguely remember hearing that Lexus can re-program the steering within a certain amount to reset the center position, can anybody confirm this?
Does it sound like my narrow and lighter wheels are the source of my car slightly pulling to either the left or right depending on which lane of the highway I’m on?
Thanks for helping.

I have the same steering wheel alignment issue with my 08 as I installed a 12 stock wheel. Slightly off center each direction by 1 spline. I ordered an aftermarket wheel to see if that fixes it. I’m thinking each wheel has its splines set with the car and not all match.
I had similar issues with steering wheel change and header installs, dropped subframe. Each time an alignment fixed it. I should also mention that I know the alignment shop. The tech who did the alignment, let me sit in the car while he raised it. While up in the air he had me put the wheel in the position I wanted and then tightened everything down. My wheel is a DCTMS and my wheels are RCF, with the rears trimmed 5mm. My steering wheel is still straight.

Steering wheel alignment is easily fixed by adjusting the toe. So your alignment tech should sort it out.
As for wheel / tire combo causing a pull; no. Not the wheels but tires can always be a contributing factor.
My thought is to leave it be for now while observing tire wear and making toe corrections for wear until summer tires return as a tire change could fix it.
