Default 2013 thru 2017 LS 460

Hey guys,
New member to forum and I am in the market for a 2013 thru 2017 LS 460. I prefer to purchase a 2015 or 2016 Fsport but those are pretty rare to find. Long story short, most of my research result in LS 460s with 70,000+miles. My concerns are:
- Should I be concerned with that much milage? Does that compromise the ride quality
- What repairs will I run into at that age. Should I purchase an extended warranty?
- Is there a big differnce with the L model?

Thanks guys.

So, as cars age the ride quality does deteriorate, but these changes are very slight, at 70k miles if its in good shape I don't think you will have an issue. I personally would buy an extended warranty, especially if you get one with air suspension. Possible trouble spots are control arms, air suspension, brake actuator. Listen for clicking sounds when braking or other unusual braking sounds. In GA most will be RWD, which are cheaper to work on.

I had both the LS460 and the LS460L, I much preferred the L. They ride a little better, feel more impressive and imposing, and the rear legroom is much better (although perfectly fine on the SWB car). LWB cars are usually better equipped too

I purchased a 2014 LS RWD base in 2019 with 78K miles and have had zero issues with it so far. I did purchase an extended warranty but never had to use it. Car drives beautifully.
Look for a car with good verifiable service records and go from there.
As mentioned above, the L version is better equipped with ML sound system, Air ride suspension and other refinements.
Fact is, I recently purchased a 2011 LS460 AWD with 175K miles and it still drive good, though I may need to change the suspension out due to it being a bit too soft for my liking due it's age. Luckily it does not have Air suspension.
Good luck with your search.

Thanks for the replies. I'm really leaning towards a Fsport, love the look. Got my eye on one, but it's white. Wish it was black. Going to check out a 2016 LS non LWB with 58,000 miles black on black. My only concern is the carfax says it was in a minor accident, sideswipe $1000 worth of damages. No structural damage. Should I stay away from it?

If its the right car and the repair is undetectable I wouldn't stay away.

$1000 accident damage is nothing. That's a minor body panel ding /bumper cover scratch. Ask Steve - he had a minor bump at a fast food line - cost $7000 to repair!!!

What does the clicking sound mean when braking? I read in another post that it is normal to hear this click....

It’s a loud clicking/grunting sound that is definitely not normal. It’s a sign that the Actuator is problematic.

Good morning. A lovely 2012 LS 460 Sport, special wheels/grill, interior, with ~70K miles, in above average condition popped up on eBay, via Carvana today. The car is located in AZ. Hope this might be of interest

Update: Hey guys, thanks for your input and support in my journey for a purchase. I've made a decision and am now a proud owner of a 2016 LS 460 SWB. Super excited about the purchase and it rides like a dream. Absolutely incredible ride comfort and luxury interior. Thanks again guy
