I'm currently fixing this mistake myself after swapping a 2012 LS460 engine into a 2008 GS460.

If you go the rebuild route, you need to make sure your machinist knows how to work with open deck blocks. They are tricky to machine.

Rebuilt is the safest route to go in terms of starting off fresh and if there's an issue there should be some sort of warranty to fall back on.
its a 2015 GS F Sport. Replacing motor took 4 weeks and $7300. Old motor had 145k. New motor has 90k plus a strong 3 year warranty. Parts and labor.

That has nothing to do with an XF40

Its possible, but you cant just drop it in as is.

You have to swap the E-VVTi camshaft timing gear assemblies. Its not exactly an easy or simple job.

edit: just realized the gs350 guy bumped a 5 year old thread, lol

I see the confusion. Didn't see a reason to start a new thread.

I would go the used engine route deal with a reputable company and use a professional to install the motor. My brother just did this and spent about $2500 in the entire job.
