Default How much should a muffler delete run me?

As the title states, I want to get a muffler delete on my '07. I contacted a few shops and got quotes ranging from $100 per muffler and $80 for the welding to $250 for the whole thing. If anyone has any experience with muffler deletes or gotten it done on their LS, how much did it cost you?

My local exhaust shop charged me $200 to cut off the mufflers and weld on 2 pipes that they also had to be crush bent.

$150-200 sounds about right.

Try glasspacks, I did muffler delete and the drone was crazy, couldn't have a conversation.

Went to Midas to replace rotted-out 2012 LS mufflers with glass packs. Cost about $375.00. There is a bit of a drone just below 2000 rpm, but the improvement in gas mileage more than makes up for it. We picked up about 4 mpg doing small- town and rural driving.
Plus, I like the way it sounds, and I like that I saved about $1500-$2000.

Tratrious, welcome to the forum. Is this due to worn exhaust system or a mod? You've had a few responses that suggest you consider glass packs instead of a delete. You can do a search on the forum for more posts on the subject. Let us know what you do and the details so we can learn from you.

Or you can buy the 2 sets of exhaust vents from me and get a deeper sound out of your LS!

If the mufflers are not rotted, damaged, failing, whatever, I agree with the above!

For a simple muffler delete on my LS, I paid around $120 total — shop charged about $80 for labor and I supplied the minimal hardware. If a place is quoting $250, they might be tagging on diagnostics or extra pipe work. The cost of a muffler delete really shouldn’t be that high unless it’s a complicated exhaust path.
