Default Overheating

My 2008 Lexus LS 460L is overheating and will not accelerate when accelerator pedal depressed. Any suggestions what is the cause and remedy.

wrong section, also have you checked your coolant level at all? Does the engine temperature rise steadily as the engine warms up on cold start?

are both your fans working? The engine cooling one, is on the drivers side, next time it rises above 1/2 way point, stop by side of road, leave car running open hood quickly and see if the fan is tuning, it will speed things up if you have taken off the front Black engine trim pieces before hand.

2nd part of the question is hard to say are you getting any error messages on the dash..

invest in some thing like bluedriver and read your codes.

Thanks for your reply jdanielca, much appreciated. I will check this out today. Just one thing I would like to add ... this problem happened when my VSC light came on, and has stayed on. I took to an auto electrician and he was the one that said that the overheating could be the problem, but wasn't sure until he takes the car for one day to check the diagnostics and wiring.

VCS light sometimes triggers the "limp mode". In the "limp mode", your car will not respond to accelerator almost at all.

A clogged catalytic converter can also cause this.

Just to update you the guys that were kind enough to help me with my small car trouble. Turns out my radiator was leaking. I replaced it with new one and the VSC has now gone out.

For future reference others who encounter similar issues these plastic n metal crimped radiators are all the same, there is no point splashing on Toyota it is not going to be any better if it were that top plastic tube won’t be brittle and breaking. I changed mine to KYB or Kayaba, I think rockauto has osc or something all these are ok and nicely priced. Good luck guys.

I'm sorry, I meant to say where did you get yours from? Was it from Amazon, Rockauto, Denso, Lexus direct? Just curious. Anyway, it's no big deal. I'll find one somewhere. Thanks anyway.
