Default Heart broken

I previous owned a 2008 LS460, loved it but it was totaled by a driver that stated she didn't see me. In 2018, brought a 2012 LS460 with 52k miles black on black from Alderson Lexus online and I trusted Lexus hype for their superior sales in used Lexus along with a clean CARFAX. I lived in NC. Paid over $26,000 with shipping and delivery. WOW! I Got bum-rushed, I GOT ROBBED. Upon arrival, I notice this vehicle was damaged on the passenger side front door; poor paint job with over-spray. I have downloaded the estimates from Rice Toyota Collision. Alderson assisted with half of the damage within three week of the vehicle being delivered to me. Little did I know, the damage was only the tip of the iceberg. In March 2020 while on my honeymoon, [same side] the passenger side front door window stop working, took it to a mechanic for the repair, here what Lexus discovered and confirmed, estimation has been downloaded. It is apparent, the passenger was damaged substantially. READ the information yourself. General Manager, Steve Alderson, stated it is not their fault and the CARFAX the dealership uses sometimes is suspect..

So, you bought long distance from a dealership (presumably without having the vehicle independently inspected) and are upset that it had prior body damage? Caveat Emptor

I bought my 2008 LS460L from a Carmax in Las Vegas and had it shipped to me here in Greensboro, NC. I was fortunate enough to have a guy from this forum (Shad034) go over there and check it out and drive it before I committed to it. After it arrived here, it had body damage to the right side from the car hauler. Carmax agreed to have it fixed and the work was done at the same Flow Lexus body shop you went to. They did a great job on mine. BTW, I'll never go to RICE TOYOTA for anything. Good luck with your car.

Doesn't CARFAX have a money back guarantee on their histories?

I already had that happen with an E-bay remote purchase. The Carfax guarantee didn't apply and it almost always does *not* apply. Ebay didn't help either. After that experience I spent over a grand for multiple remote inspections on different cars before I finally found a good Lexus IS250. Still it sucks that somebody else had the same problem I did.

FYI: I bought the ebay car for 5500 and was lucky to resell it for just over 1K.

Poet, you can fix it a lot more cheaply if you want to. Maybe $200 max. Pull off the door trim and put a junkyard window motor and regulator in there.

You are right. I trusted Lexus namesake but failed to verify the namesake of Alderson

CARFAX convinced everybody that they matter and mean something. I have seen many cars with clean a CARFAX but with after accident repairs including frame damage. And that is the reason CARFAX reports mean nothing to me.
