Default AGM Battery Question

I have a Duracell AGM battery in my 2006 SC 430. The Lexus L00544-MF240-575 Interst G State Battery that I had installed under partial warranty on 3 March 2016 in the LS is starting to show signs that it may be time for a change. Is there any reason why I should not consider installing a Duracell AGM battery in my 2010 LS 460L? The AGM battery in the SC has been great and never ever had a hick-up when lots of folks with SC 430's complain about their lead acid batteries discharging when the car is not driven. Thoughts on installing a AGM battery in the LS

Dennis

No. Lexus/ Toyota is now only using AGM batteries, in Europe they remove the vent hose system 100% on all Lexus/Toyota cars.

They work excellent and all my cars use them since they don't vent hydrogen gas (many negatives to that including rust) and are very good if left sitting often

I would go for it without hesitation. I would only buy an AGM battery as a replacement personally.

I'm wondering why they recommend this one.

What is the price difference between the two? I use Toyota sold batteries and they always lasted a long time. But I used aftermarket batteries in the past and they worked fine as well. From my personal experience, OEM batteries lasted longer but could be just my luck.

Well since I happen to be looking for a battery, what size or model AGM does the 460 take. I was going to get a battery from Walmart but I don't mind paying more for a quality battery. In the pic above the posts are in the front of the battery where as the 460 posts are in the back.

I was thinking of this one.

Duracell Ultra Platinum AGM Battery for 2010 Lexus LS460L V8 4.6L 585CCA Car and Truck - SLI34AGM at Batteries Plus Bulbs.

It is the same AGM Platinum series that is in the SC.

Read this very old post. The last post, #77 is a good read.

Biggest that fits, whatever the stock LS430 one is, stock 2017 ram, stock 2014 sequoia, stock WJ, and RX 300. My toy uses a 2005 S-class cell mounted remotely

Brand is Johnson controls from advance auto I believe, they have been switching around makers recently
