Default Mileage issue?

My 2008 Lexus LS460 has been giving me around 14.2 miles to the gallon (according to the dashboard). Is this normal? I’ve been filling up on 91 gasoline only. I reset the the display when I bought it and have driven only 100 miles so far. Also, I’ve been doing more city streets driving than highway. Please let me know if maybe the engine air filters need to be replaced? I know spark plugs were replaced at 60k miles. I’m at 102k right now.

That definitely seems low. I'd start by verifying what your dash is displaying. Fill the tank and set your trip meter. See how the two compare.

Thanks for the suggestions. I’m located in Southern California. So there’s a lot of stop and go traffic here.

i get like 28mpg on highway but still get around 15mpg same as you on average

I think in the city , especially stop and go, the car falls flat on its face in terms of mileage

They dont like city driving, its a highway cruiser

Big car. Lots of throttle? Seems really low mpg although. I switched to top gear Costco gas which helped in smoothing the idle and increased the mileage. Also replaced the spark plugs...,.

My lowest mileage around town in medium to low stop and go is around 19 mpg.

Drove back from Las Vegas today with the cruise on at 88 mph mostly. 2150? Rpm.
