So just when I got a new used bumper some idiot clipped me from behind. Long story short an opportunity for new bumper.

I was told this before so I want to know if I’m correct before proceeding. Preferably someone who has done it or links to threads a google search has yielded nothing thus far.

as I understand it the fenders are the same so no body work needed:

I would need:

rear bumpier
trunk trim
door garnish
lower bumper cover
lights

One more thing will the new bumper fit with the old lights on? I assume since the tail lights edge into the fender that they have to be essentially the same where it counts? Then I can deal with the lights and stuff later.

so can someone confirm? Thanks . I like the 2013 rear and 2010 front so that’s what I’m doing next.

 

You will also need the whole trunk lid. Whole trunk lid, lights, the license plate garnish, emblems, bumper cover, lower bumper trim, exhaust finishers.

 

The whole trunk lid not just the license plate garnish ?? Anyone know what’s the diff ? I was told just the garnish before anyone see threads about this

 

No, you need the whole lid, the stamping is different and the 13-17 garnish wont fit. If you look at the shape of the lid itself, its different. The hood and trunk lid have a different stamping in the 13-17.

 

i see but the body is the same ie the fenders ? What do you think about the 2010 front and 13 rear together?

oh and if the fenders are the same.... do you think the bumper will fit, without changing anything else ?

 

The fenders are the same. With the 2013 front on a 2010 you will also need the hood. I doubt just the bumper would fit.

 

A call to your dealer to find out about part#’s will solve your problem.

 

nah front I’m looking at 2012 ls600 bumper which btw has different part numbers from 460 same year which has 3 variants, the 600 grille is hard to find online I checked the grille is different the foam behind is different but the hood and fenders are same from 2007-2012 . I know the 2012 they moved the headlight washer to the bumper does it mean that the lights got smaller or is it the same shape and size the 600 lights look bigger but I guess they are going to be the same

and no I can’t call a dealer these ppl are *******s here

 

Then call a dealer here or in Canada, they should be able to help you....just an opinion.

 

So I’ve checked the the rear quarter panel although there are different numbers etc, are the same, because on some sites you can check backward compatibility.

the trunk lid is different because of only 2 reasons ,the way the shape of the area behind the lights on the lid will not accommodate the different shaped lights, if not for that I can easily ignore the exterior difference and slap the garnish on.

now is there anyone here with both a 2007-2012 and a 2013 onwards?

seeing how the quarter panel is the same. There can be 2 possibilities. It mean one things the curvature of the edge of those lights is the same. So either the lights on the quarter panel is exactly the same shape where it matters or only the edge is the same and the rest is different, so far I have found that the trim inside the trunk where the bumper clips into, the 2013 will fit the 2012 so we know the 2012 bumper is exactly the same as the 2007. Ergo the height is the bumper opening lid is the same.

I am going to venture to say that the 2013 bumper will clip into a 2007 body without any modification to anything else, someone tell me I’m wrong ...

 

The rear quarter panels are the same, but I maintain that the stamping of the trunk lid is is different and that the garnish and the lights will not fit that.

As for the rear bumper, it depends on the shape of the lower part of the lamps
