Default How to remove bird dropping paint damage?

Good morning. I bought a beautiful 2010 Lexus with beautiful paint with the exception of a faint “etching” in the paint, likely caused by bird droppings. How best to remove this damage without damaging fragile clear coat?

Your help is appreciated!

The only way to remove it is to machine polish it out

Etching can be very difficult depending upon how bad it is and what color paint you have. Severe etching may require wetsand or respray. An orbital polisher may not even have enough power to get the job done. What brand is your orbital polisher. I would start with less aggressive first like M205 and then work you way to more aggressive depending upon how experienced you are at detailing. If you are not experiences anything beyond orbital polishing I would leave to a pro. Consulting Autogeek forum may be very helpful as well.

Depending on the orbital polisher he has the orange pad may not even be able to work to its full potential.

should add another suggestion and the other poster brought up a good point.

I use the orange and white and feel comfortable that I am not going to harm the clear with a too aggressive pad,

I would pick up one of the meguiars microfiber pads that get great reviews on amazon
its a little more aggressive than the orange but like the other poster said it might do wonders with the spotting.

as far as sonax, they are brilliant products the perfect finish is awesome and cut max will help with tough stains...

cheers

I have used a micro mesh extra fine sandpaper to wetsand marks from my paint with no discernible difference. It was 3200 grit.
