Default Air Suspension - control and modifications etc

So guys bear with me I just read something today that rekindled my interest in the topic. So the s600 guard merc has air springs in the front and normal coils in the back.

I'm thinking this can very feasibly be done with our cars, but to be sure I need to know a few things. A few things have been discussed before.

1. The height high, button doesn't it control all 4 sides or only the front?

2. The comfort normal and sport settings are the only for the fronts or back too?

3. This question might be irrelevant depending on the first 2 answers, but what does the sensor that goes above the strut, what does it do?

I really think it is quite a good idea, I think that most of the heavy lifting so to speak is done with the front struts which is why the back ones look so flimsy. I think is there are sensor issues they can be solved with relays or resistors. And the car could benefit from the increased stability, I wonder if the load capacity of non air cars is higher than ones with air, I'm going to venture a guess that it might be.

Let's keep this to how it can be done vs naysaying if they did it on the s600 guard to improve handling because of weight I think it might be a feasible plan for our cars.

  1. Yes, all corners
  2. Yes, all corners
  3. There is a controller for that, the ASC680 air suspension controller. (search for ASC680 on this forum)
OEM, at high load the car will lift itself to normal height, at high speed the car will lower itself for better fuel consumption and stability. You can manipulate this with the ASC680.

This is mine and works great!

Thanks for response but totally not what I am referring to when it comes to sensors and not into lowering
