2010 Lexus LS460 AWD
Hola -
Hoping for a little community info regarding a 2010 AWD. I'm replacing an S80 and want a luxury car that is more reliable and came across a one-owner LS460 AWD. Hadn't considered an LS before because FWD or AWD was a bit of a 'must' for me (difficult driveway) and didn't even know and AWD LS existed - but here I am.
Sooo - are there any known major issues? I kinda doubt it, being a Lexus after all - but you never know. I've seen some Toyotas that are oil-burners so any inside scoop is much appreciated.
TIA

You'll find in your area all the LSs 2009 and up will be AWD.
The three main issues are as TriC said, brake actuators, control arms and the melting interior issue. The melting interior is largely a southern thing, and mainly on 2007-2009 cars. and Lexus has an extended warranty there. Control arms can fail on them 70k miles and up, AWD cars you have to buy the OEM control arms so that can be an expensive repair. Brake actuator same kind of thing.

The 2010 was an upgrade from the 2007-09. If you haven't, head over to the Lexus Owner's Site, set up an account and enter the vin of the car. Then you can find all the maintenance records and a host of other options. Have the car inspected and check the control arms to make sure they are solid. For the 5 years I drove my 08 I never had an issue other than replacing the headlights. My friend owns the car now, and he loves it like I did. Good luck.

Thanks to everyone, especially for the Owner's Site (of which I was not aware). Reading through what appears to be fairly routine work (brakes, bulbs, battery). Found that all air springs were replaced in 2016. Owner paid for labor, Lexus goodwilled the parts. Peristent problem with the driver's side window being noisy in it's tracks. Oh, and the owner had a penchant for rotating tires lol. He certainly likes having the dealer do all work - waxing, wiper blades, new battery in the key fob.
My car was the same - everything done at the dealer, including tires, battery, etc. All I've done in two years is oil changes.

I've heard that it's an issue with many Toyota engines as they get up in miles. Still, it's not a big deal as long as you keep an eye on it.
How many miles are on the car? I tend to check the oil around the 3k mark and usually have to btw 1-2 quarts. This was really annoying at first since my 400 never burned oil but it is different engine. After I figured out that nothing was inherently wrong with the engine It does not bother me anymore. The pros far outweigh that 1 con about this car.

With that many miles I'm pretty sure the owner did lots of highway driving at high rates of speed which is when a lot of the oil gets burned up in these cars. I've been monitoring the oil burn for the last 30k and it has not changed that much. I"m at 130k and it started at around 100k. I'm not worried at all though.
