Hello, my navigation is stuck in day mode.
All of my center console lights don’t turn on and my navigation screen is bright as hell.
I have a 2015 LS460 f sport and I haven’t been able to find much help.
The gauge dimmer switch is not all the way up.
My headlights are in auto mode.
The display button in the menu does not give me the day mode option.
My headlights turn on automatically perfectly fine.
There is a sensor that determines whether or not to illuminate the dash lights and dim the IP and convert the nav to night mode if the headlights are on based on ambient light in the cabin. So, its possible to have those headlights on and for the interior lig lighting to still be in "day mode".
Sounds like what you have is an issue with that sensor.
Where would this sensor be? It’s my dads car so I’m not entirely sure when it started happening but I think it did happen all at once.
The light sensor is the dome-shaped thing at the front edge of the dashboard where it meets the windshield. It may be centered on the dashboard immediately ahead of the center speaker grille. Maybe it's gone bad. https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-89121-6...N6qi#vi-ilComp

That's odd. Do you mean the Day Mode option is grayed out? If you select the day mode, the display will not dim even at night and/or the headlights are turned on. Here are two images from the 2014 and 2015 manuals.
Thank you for your replies, I can see the sensor, but it’s really close to the windshield. Not sure how it would be able to be taken out without removing the dash. And the day mode button doesn’t show up at all.

This is interesting. I would have thought the Day mode option would be available even if the car doesn't have Navigation (which is an option that some cars don't have). Does your car have Maps/Navigation? Please check your owner's manual. If it shows the Day Mode option, something is wrong with the software on your car, and Lexus should fix it.
All 13-17 LS460s have navigation. I believe it was standard from 09 on.
I thought Nav is standard too. Until I saw this strange info (below) in the 2015 LS Navigation Manual downloaded from the Lexus site. Maybe Nav is not standard on all LS460, although perhaps only outside North America. Anyways, I wasn't sure, and that's why I asked the OP whether his car had Navigation option.
