Default Outside mirrors folding weird...

so I'm guessing I F'ed the mirrors or something, I vaguely remember having to flip my mirrors back into position... so I need someone who had good working mirrors to fold them and then, take a photo to see if its:

1. the the edge of the mirror, totally lines up with the chrome of the window, or as much as possible
2. it does not line up flush but stops and leaves like a 45 deg angle of space between the mirror and the chrome.

My driver's side leaves and angle...... passenger side does not, i tried to move the passenger side a bit, but it feels weird too loose, if i want it to leave an angle like the driver's side it is not as though it will stay in place based on some kind of stop.... how do I describe it, if you move something to point one, it will stop there on its own, then you have to push it past to get it past the natural stop to get to the next stop... you know what I mean? well for the passenger side putting it in the 45 deg position is not a natural stop point...

My passenger side mirror folds all the way in until it hits the glass. If the passenger door window is open when the mirror is folding, the mirror will actually reach slightly through the opening.

Here are both; the one on the right is "normal" as far as I'm aware.

The passenger side mirror cover has a crack, so it has been hit at some point, and apparently this has messed up the gears. The dealership had a look at it and said they can't fix it without replacing the entire mirror, so I'll tolerate it for now.
