P7 Plus going away
Was on a chat a few minutes ago with Tire Rack looking for tires for the LS and they have the Pirelle P7 Plus on closeout and indicated they are being discontinued in all sizes?

Interesting to hear. I just bought 4 to put on my car this week. I have the 19" wheels. I got them for $215 each including shipping and no tax I was happy. At the time I ordered which was sunday it did not say closeout but its the same price.
Its coming down the road, if they're closing out the P7 it wont be long I'm sure. They already rolled out their SUV Scorpion All Season Plus II.
The P7 is a huge seller for Pirelli, they're not going to give up that segment. Lots of new competitors out and its time for Pirelli to tweak them.

No tax?? Where did you buy them?
Bought them on Tirerack.com If you aren't in the state their warehouse is located in there is no tax. That is generally how online shopping works when there are only a few distributions warehouses for a company and they are not in your state.
Bought these for my w124 about 5 years ago, loved them so much I just bought them for the LS last August over the Primacy Tour AS.
BUT...
Had a vibration from the start, brought them back and they road forced them and said good to go. Not good to go, still a noticeable vibration.
Went back again and they replaced two tires, vibration better but still there.
Brought them back to my work and road forced them myself, all were over 12lbs which in my opinion is too much, but Pirelli warranty says anything under 20lbs (according to the tire store) is acceptable, so nothing I can do under warranty. Called Pirelli, they pretty much told me to go back where I bought them and didn't care.
Anyone else have this issue? All tires were date coded for early or mid 2019, so I'm wondering if there was a hiccup in the manufacturing process during that time.
I will be most likely eating the $800 it took to install and run through the shenanigans, and replace them with either Primacy Tour or Bridgestone Quiet Tracks in the spring.

I don’t trust soft sidewalls- increased risks of sidewall bubble and blowouts, and deceased handling. Even the P zero Nero that come stock with our 2010-2012 sport edition had soft sidewalls. A few member mentioned that could have contributed to some premature failures of control arms.
I just purchased the P7 for a Toyota Corolla a few months back. the sidewalls were paperthin. You could flap the sidewalls in and out like card stock.
