Default P0121 _ throttle position sensor switch A

So this happened today, car went into limp mode.

Yesterday, i did the following:

1. cut out the filters at the top of the air filter box.
2. clean maf sensors
3. tried to clean throttle body, but the hoses at the bottom of the TB were on too tight and I had no replacement ones, so I cleaned it best i can affter I uscrewed it with contact cleaner., As far as I know everything as put on right....
4. I could not find the IAC on our car, which is called what idle air something, it was not near the throttle like on other Lexus so I have no idea where it is... I did check online and we have a Lexus Part No.: 17335-38020 ACTUATOR, INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE, is this the same as IAC? Is it something that can be cleaned?

Anyways I did everything, put everything back plug the throttle wire back in and I put Neg on the battery back, ran the car a while.. ( I did notice my car produces alot of steam or vapour (but there are no signs of contamination in the oil or coolant) I will need to observe closely tomorrow onwards.

Anyways i was driving for an hour or 2 last night in some very bad country mud roads... no issue.. nothing happened. today i was out collecting the PCV valve on the way back i was using brake hold alot.. and at one point i was using it and then turning it off and then back on.... just coz i dont like that much in stop and go because of the way it disengages..... anyways.. suddenly the lights came on and i was in limp mode., thankfully i was less than a km a way so all the way home the car crawled... called a friend to come read the codes... it was P0121. He cleared the codes, we tested the accelerator and what not and went to for a drive... washed the car from all the mud from night before and i drove him and home and the problem did not come back.

I can check all the connections again in the morning. but if someone has some input let me know..

Make sure that the throttle closes and opens properly and nothing obstructs its movement. Inspect the throttle position harness for failed or damaged wires.

Guys an update taking into account all my one off problems I think it’s the throttle body/ throttle position sensor which is in the throttle body.

Mine says and is doing the same thing! I have a couple of threads here on that subject. Seem the sensors are not replaceable! WHAT! Seems Lexus thought it would be best to replace that big ol hunk of metal (throttle body) instead of just a simple sensor. Now the cost is ridiculous, so I am looking online s
for a used one. E bay has several but only a couple that offer a year warranty. Most are just six months.

if you scrutinise all my threads, make a list of all the issues, on top of occasional weird idle, occasional weird ness when I accelerate quickly it seems to be stuck on a high Rev and doesn’t want to go down, it has happened before, I used to think it’s the transmission but it’s actually not I think it’s all related to this throttle position sensor. You should maybe try to find someone who can refurbish one, it can be disassembled if you are willing to drill through the bolts and use sealant etc.

For people in states, an used throttle body in a good condition is going to cost you around $120. I provided a link below of the part removed from 2014 car (seems to be backwards compatible) with 58k. I would get it if I was looking for one. It comes with one year warranty.
