I recently began to notice that when the vehicle is in Park, I'll get an occasional "shudder", but it's slight and I never feel it at Stop lights or the like. Otherwise it's smooth...
What is the car's RPM when you are at a stop light with the car idling? If under 700 RPM then turn on your seat cooler/warmer or the and that will boost the RPM to about 650 - 700 RPM. I had a 2012 LWB and that car would have a slight shudder/vibration when the seat fans or air conditioner compressor were off. Lexus apparently designed the car to have both of them always on with the car idling at 700 RPM. at 700 RPM the vibration went away.
I have read the ECU data. The idle rpm is dictated by ambient and coolant temperature.
Can you elaborate a bit on the "coolant temperature" comment and how that impacts the car at idle? Is it strictly RPM - meaning the RPM would fluctuate based on this... I didn't see this thread and just posted something about a slightly different "feeling" at idle when my car is in "drive" instead of neutral, park, or reverse. RPM's are staying consistent but the experience in the cabin is a bit different in "drive" at idle.
LS's should all be smooth at idle. This is a little subjective but overall, there should not be vibration. Many LS's require the AC compressor to be running to idle normally. Lexus confirms that this symptom is normal.
