Default Average or Terrible Deal? 2009 LS 460L

Much appreciated for all the great informative posts. Im early on in my search for one of these beauties. Does the following car seem reasonable? When i pulled the service log from Lexus there was some concerning issues:

- Flushed transfer case 3x
- Start Stop Safety / Bumper cover rear damaged
- Front Control Arm needs replacing

https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...0093/overview/

Thank you for any help in ascertaining the value of this vehicle.

It looks like a fair deal. If you want an Ultra Lux long wheelbase with AWD, jump on it.

I would buy it. It noted that shocks were replaced at 70k in the carfax and you can get control arms done for cheap with aftermarket parts and an Indie shop. Def get an independent PPI done before hand though.

Thank you all for the very helpful replies. I read all the post in the thread late last night about the LS values dropping. I'll probably lurk and wait a year before buying one. If i could save up $22 - $30,000 dollars for one it would go a long way in getting a fresher model with lower miles. I have 16 month old twins at home so the less stress with getting a newer car would be welcomed lol.

I like the thoughts of a heavy, reliable, and beautiful value priced sedan. My assumption is it would protect occupants better than a 3,500 lb car.

why so much hate for these cars all of a sudden ?

Last year this would of been a screaming deal, this year everyones saying blah blah , its ok I guess

$12k for a 2009 , white long wheel base with the air suspension already replaced?

its a GREAT deal in my opinion

I emailed him some questions and it was apparently snatched up quick. Listing is being removed. I love them in white with tinted windows.

Nasty....looks like a sharp LS and a decent deal. Keep watching and another will pop up. My pref is L model, rwd and no air suspension. Happy shopping!! If I had in the 20's to spend I would prob try to step up to a 2013 or newer LS.

That car WAS a good deal but it's gone now. The carfax was impressive to me.

To be clear, you can only get 2 of the 8 control arms for AWD in aftermarket. The rest are dealer only at $350 and up per arm, plus installation. Figure $1000 to $1500 for labor on the entire job at indie shop. It’s not cheap to own this car, it’s beautiful and I love it, but cheap it is not.

With bad arms and that kind of mileage, I wouldn’t be paying more than $11,500 for that car. The price would be fair if the arms were replaced and the brake actuator had been replaced.
What did you pay for your personal LS460?

Too bad the aftermarket isnt stepping up to the plate for the AWD. Thumbs down to them on that.

I see the listing has been removed. As for price, if it's even in the ball park of what KBB says, it's a deal. I've driven a lot of cars in my day and I've never driven anything as smooth and comfortable as a Lexus. If you want German engineering, a tankish ride, and noisy, with more repair issues than a tinker toy, get you one of them 2008 - 2012 Mercedes and BMW's. Talk about expensive to maintain!
