The 17 has the newer navigation setup that can display the map across the entire screen, that's really the only tech change...

At 110K miles, I would say our 2013 LS is aging very gracefully. I'm in the middle of trying to sell it and interested buyers have rated it 9/10. It doesn't look, nor act, like a 6- or 7-year-old car.

Default Ls460 Aging

I recently purchased a 2007 LS460 and honestly it is great. I do not feel like I'm missing much. Blind-spot monitor would be nice but otherwise all good. It has a great stereo, good touchscreen system that is very easy to use, heated steering wheel, heated and cooled front and rear seats, can park itself ( I have tried and it does work pretty decently)...

Putting tech that is obsolete in 3 years into a car is not just stupid, it pisses me off. Give me a dock for my phone/tablet and a decent app and just stop with the crappy slow tech.

My car is (2010 awd) aging like overripe fruit in a hotel dumpster. But thanks for asking.

it was a revelation when I realized that a 26 foot unladen u-haul truck offered a better highway ride than my car.

sometimes I feel like pantomiming a cowboy with a lasso, the way my car rides over bumps. It’s beyond ridiculous. People in slammed Civics with cut springs can laugh at the way my car bounces.

dont buy a car with air ride

edit: and the steering feels like I’m fighting a giant gyroscope at highway speeds

So...sounds like you need a little suspension work, maybe. Not unheard of when a car hits 10 years old. Look into Fortune Auto coilovers.

It’s laziness that’s stopped me from installing coil suspension. I have the parts. I just haven’t had the motivation to install them yet.

Get a module that supports Apple Car Play. No longer have to worry about tech.

Your suspension is a obviously hammered. Fix it and it will ride like it should.

As an owner of one with air suspension I hope this isn't the norm after only 10 years!

But what you're describing sounds like it might be a safety issue. I would definitely have it looked at!

My 9 year old LS has been a champ. I put out $750 for a complete front control arms replacement w/Febest parts after 90k miles, that's not too bad considering I didn't need to change it. I was annoyed by the clicking sound from the previous owner hitting something. I know a few other members were annoyed with the noise when one of their control arms went bad also. I think many of the problems here are overblown.

With regards to aging, the LS style has continued to compete with any other brand. From 07-17, the look is class and style. Maintaining a Lexus or any high profile luxury car isn't always inexpensive, and neither is the car. But I'd put my money on an LS being less expensive in the long haul than any BMW or Mercedes. I have 4 friends who all drove BMW's. They spend more money in a year on repairs than I did in the 5 years I owned my 08 LS. Not one of them own a German car today. Now for technology. My 2014 LS, that I've had for a month, does not have the same technology of a 2017. But, I can tell you the speed limit by looking at the sign on the road. It doesn't have that goofy lane change vibrating feature, but I generally keep my eyes on the road instead of trying to text and drive. I can't see the picture of the artist performing the song on my ML sound system. But I can read the text if I don't know the person singing. My 12.3" screen doesn't offer a full view of the maps, but then again, I never pay attention to the map as I know where I'm going. If I need directions, my phone is my go to. And, I saved $20K to get basically the same exact comfort and upgraded interior even though my friends think it's a 16. At the end of the day if you think a Civic is better because it has never tech, you should by it today. If you love Lexus like me and nothing else will do, then there you go.

My 2015 LS460 (28,000 miles) has developed unbelievable wind noise around Doors/windows!!!

Seals all appear as new.

Anyone else?

Make sure your window is rolled all the way up. For the 2007-2012 models, the motor will retract if it senses a restriction while rolling up. It’s different or less sensitive on the 2013-2017. I found a few 2013+ LS460 that had their windows not rolled all the way up. I would recommend treating the seals even on the inside of the window seal grooves.

If you want to test, use both hands and assist the window while it is rolling up.

I found one 2014 LS where the motor would try to roll the window up for a good 5 minutes. This is not good for the window tracks or the motor.

Many of the LS460s and LS600s have had wind noise problems related to the "triangle trim" on the front doors.

We have discussed this extensively in our forum.

Check here for our discussions on this subject: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...noise-fix.html

If the trim is loose, your car can probably be repaired easily. Since your car is relatively new, you should try replacing the trim with new parts before trying the more aggressive repair.
