Open Waze App > Spyglass (bottom left corner) > Gear Icon (top left corner) > Voice and Sound > Play sound to phone speaker .

You can use the "play as a bluetooth phone" option within Waze but you will continually get calls from yourself you have to answer to hear the directions. Best to just let them play from the phone

100% certain. When a CALL comes in sure BT mutes the audio and rings the phone. But all the car's system knows when the phone is playing navigation directions is that "sounds are coming from the phone" it doesn't know if they're music or nav directions. If the car is not in a mode where its playing audio through the system, you will not here BT alerts, nor will you hear navigation directions played over Bluetooth.

SW17LS........When I select my BT tab in the cars audio system, no audio (music playing) phone connected to vehicle then my turn by turn instructions (Google Maps) plays. What I am referring to is when I switch from BT source to FM AM etc.... Google maps no longer comes on cars speaker.
Am I missing something?

Advanced class on this is to set the - Alerts and Reports/Speedometer/Show Speed Limit when exceeding xx MPH above.
Now you will get a trill when the limit drops and you missed the sign. Be sure to allow enough headroom to minimize spurious warnings.
