Default Windshield Wiper Arms

Has anyone removed these? I want to remove and repaint mine as they are faded somewhat. It looks like a straightforward job as the nuts on top secure them but I want to make sure I’m not missing something.

I've not removed the LS's, but on every other car I've owned, some manufactured back in the '60s, has been just like this. Make a mark on the arm and the stud underneath, so you get them back in the correct position. These may be keyed, but I've never seen any done that way.

Reviving this old thread to see if anyone has removed the wiper arms. I undid the bolts but the arms would not budge.

I had to use a pitman arm puller to get it off the splines.

Great....thanks so much for the information. I'm going to just paint them with a tiny brush.
