Default Rear a/c removal

I don’t use the rear a/c and I am thinking about removing the unit from the trunk for a custom stereo install. Has any ever removed one and if so what’s the process thanks.

You will most likely be the first to attempt this on this forum.

Man this doesn’t sound like a good idea. You are gonna kill the resale on the car.

Wink

Its like opening a can of snakes and I don't think it's worth the effort and the problems you may be creating. There's custom stereos that will fit your trunk without removing the a/c.

Sell it and get one without the rear seat upgrades.

Hi ...my car is a 2007 ls 460 L with rear ac unit package.....recently there was a minor hit from the rear and we have removed the rear AC unit.It is not a major complex process. right. Now i have lotsss of trunk space which is very helpful..earlier rear ac unit takes lot of trunk space and i felt it was unnecessary.

Of course it we hardly put the rear ac vents on..only if there is rear passengers otherwise 90% of the time..i dont use the rear ac vents.

It is very easy to remove tbe rear ac unit and you can also install it back wenever required.
