Default Outside Left Mirror Wonky

Any suggestions o how to repair it?

It is floppy in its notching and doesn't move with auto selection/reverse settings.

Thanks.

Just a guess here so take it with a grain of salt. I've never seen the guts of an LS mirror or worked on one so this may be completely off base.

Many of the mirror internals I have seen use plastic drive gears for movement. They may or may not be in a sealed case. Time and weather can have a detrimental effect on them. If one shears or breaks it can cause the symptoms you describe

Odd, my left side mirror did about the same thing over the weekend. Was loose just enough and auto didnt work. Not sure what the deal was i thought maybe the spring inside it popped and the clip let go. But after i moved the mirror itself all the way to stop on each direction. The auto worked again. And the whole thing was tight again. Have to keep an eye on it.

This. manually adjust the mirrors to the zero point, and it will start working. Right now the mirrors are at the limit, on the down position that is why it is clicking when trying to move down.
