I took a look at auction prices on the G90 AWD V8 Ultimate and boy howdy...you're right about the depreciation. Hyundai has been selling brand-new, MSO 2018 cars at auction with less than 50 miles and they're going out at 10-15k below MSRP. Real used ones are even less. And if they aren't Ultimate V8 cars, they're down in the 30's. Ouch.

I'm currently looking for a ZR1 to replace the Z06, but if i had to replace the LS460, I'd look at a Kia Stinger probably, might even look at Infiniti/Audi.

Yep, that's one of the bigger problems facing the G90... When I bought mine (leased it, actually), there was around $12k in rebates, plus big dealer discounts. I've seen new G90s sell for $20k off sticker (and sticker is only $72-75k) with all the rebates. That's what is killing resale value on late model used G90s!

I think a low mileage 3 year old 2017 G90 Ultimate V8 will probably only cost around $30K, which will be an amazing bargain in 2020, and there should be a decent number coming off 3-year leases at that time. I did mostly like the car, and think that many of our LS drivers would appreciate the electronics updates in a car that set it's sights squarely on competing with the old LS460.

Agreed - foundationally it is a solid car and for $30k-$40k (what you'd pay for an Avalon or ES350) the G90 would be comparably better. Keep in mind the current gen G90 has been on sale in Korea since 2015 so it hasn't been a mechanically problematic vehicle.

Honestly, I was just in this situation as of November 10, 2018, thanks to a moronic unlicensed/uninsured driver taking out my '08 L.

I looked, and looked...drove an E-class AMG, tried to drive a large Hyundai (never could find one which was 'ready' or available...and this is in Dallas/Fort Worth), a CL-class AMG, would have considered anything up to about $25K, used, and eventually found a '12 L ultra-luxury for $21K. Only 76K miles, bought it, had it shipped to me in Texas from Georgia.

I really did not want to have the same car twice in a row, but nothing else appealed to me the way the 460 L does.

Some sort of suv , diesel. To deal with the roads here. Don’t know how long I’m keeping this LS but I’ll always replace it with another, if I upgrade this sedan it will be to a 2010 or 2013 in a darker colour. (What year did they start changing the grille ? Before that. Maybe get one from the US myself this time... shall see

very true, the LS messes your brain up, so you just can't like any other car ... to be honest I dont even like "other" lexus cars anymore.

This blog has sold me that Carmax unicorns with maxcare is the way to go.

https://thecarmaxunicornblog.com/

Starting with my next car, I'll be buying from Carmax only, with a maxcare warranty, and then sell it just before the warranty expires, and repeat with Carmax/Max care

so I currently have 2007 LS460 L, air suspension with Ultra-Luxury package

My next car will likely be one of the following:
2013-2017 LS 460 L, air suspension with ultra-luxury package or exec seating package
2010+ Mercedes S550 or, ideally, S600
2011+ Audi A8 L
