Hey guys, what's the trick to going out to warm up the car, lock the doors and go back in the house. The doors won't stay locked. I might need to dig in the manual.
You need the Dball to remote start and keep the doors locked. It's an inexpensive option for our cars and simple. Check the remote start thread that I just bumped to the first page.
1. Pop off the little chrome cover at the rearmost part of the driver door handle by inserting the fob key and prying out and up.
2. Use fob key to lock the doors.
3. Go do your thing.
When you come back out, unlock using the fob key (fob buttons/smartkey systems are disabled when manual locking is used). Snap the little cover back on. Put fob key back in fob. Drive.

This is your best option. I had a quote to put a Viper Smart Start in the 2013 LS for $550. This includes 3 yr subscription to start the car on the phone app.
This is a retarded safety feature that Lexus enforces. I have no damn locking/unlocking issues with the BMW while the car is running.
Remote start is available with Lexus Enform app on the newer models and it works from your phone but its very slow. Many auto makers had a simple remote start button on the key fob and it didn't cost you anything but a battery.
