wierd ac noise
Hey guys! My ac is making a weird "working" noise whenever I hit a bump, almost like an air compressor. I haven't noticed any relation to speed or rpm, and it still makes the noise whether the ac, or heater is on, but I can make it stop by turning the ac off, then back on. I thought it may be something in the blower area or the cabin filter, but I replaced the filter and cleaned the area. The sound seems to be coming from the passenger side of the car.
.
Thanks for the help!

My wife's RX made a very similar noise when some leaf debris fell into the blower, except it was audible whenever the fan was on and increased in loudness as the fan speed increased...only took a couple of small pieces to make a heck of a noise.....go back and double check the blower area. I bought a small diameter hose to attach to the vacuum cleaner and it sucked up a couple of pieces that I was not able to see...good luck...

So after poking around some more, it seems that the blower is "vibrating" in its cage. When it's on, and you remove the cabin filter, you can see the blower itself vibrating and i'm guessing it's rattling and hitting the cage. Would this be fixed with a new bearing or the like? Or would I need a whole new blower assembly?

I have the same problem on my 2013. Of course, when it makes the noise I can’t get to the dealer before it dies down (CPO), or tech can’t hear it when the car is in for service (I have the service warranty). I am going to advise my Service Advisor of your post above about your observations. Thanks.
