Find this really annoying. If the car is on shouldn't I be able to lock and unlock the doors while the car is on and outside of the car?

Wife and kiddo typically sit in the back. Its hot as hell here in Vegas so I typically leave the car on with the AC on while run into a store. I been popping the door handle cover and opening the door manually when i get back into the car.

any solutions out there?

 

You can't except using the key to lock/unlock it manually. Or you wife has to lock/unlock it from the inside.This aggravates me too.
I don't have this issue with my BMW.
