They used to be called Rag Tops.

 

Spotted one in person a few months back, hideous thing it was. Maroon with a tan top

Thanks guys. I was once excited seeing that car thinking Lexus offers convertibles (Thinking of trying something new though).

The roof does not look too bad to me. It is just the added green on the leather seats that ruins the entire cabin in my opinion.

 

 

ive seen this before. no, the Landau top not a factory option. some dealerships offer it as a package. its absolutely hideous on modern cars. might as well take a crap, throw it at the car, and smear it on the roof. those belong on 1970s and early 80s american cars, not Lexus. not only do they look horrible when they are new, but when they age, forget it. not long ago i saw a 1998ish Ls400 with this done to it. the cloth was cracking, sunburned, and had stuffing coming out of it. absolutely horrible.

and once i saw a brand new Ls600HL with this on it, along with the gold package, sitting in the showroom of a dealership to the south of me. imagine the horror...
