Do I have a sticky Dash, 07 LS 460 ?
hello,
Just doing a first clean on my interior after dealer serviced car. I bought the black bottle of Maguires Interior cleaner
and protectorant. I noticed in the sun the dash above the instrument panel appears a bit shiny, no cracks. When I run the micro fiber towel over it the towel seems to drag a bit. Over the glove box area I see a similar thing. Should the dash be matte black all across the top.? Should the towel go effortlessly over the dash? Car is at 93000 miles. I am in Omaha Nebraska, the car spent some time in Arizona.

I got your PM too, I would use a very light cleaner, such as Meguairs Quick Interior Detailer or Blackfire's Interior Detailer, and then use a light dressing to even the tone of the dash out, something like 303 Aerospace. Outside of that, I would leave it be...

Good advice from SW17LS. I do all the above. Plus I ordered a Weathertech dash protector to install in windshield. To protect from UV rays. Also I use a DashMat. from covercraft. This won't stop the deterioration, But it helps.

Thanks a lot, I have the black spray of Meguires cleaner and protectorant. I am getting the 303 today.I was looking at dash protectors, so I will look at that covercraft brand. Any other tips welcomed

For me, the "shiny" or "glossy" dashboard was the first indicator that the dashboard material was deteriorating. My dashboard at times appeared as if super-shiny ArmorAll had been applied - even though I have never used any type of glossy/shiny cleaner on the dashboard. This was especially noticeable in bright sunlight. The dashboard also started to have a slight sticky feeling to it, but not as severe as the "sticky" door panels. Lexus replaced the dashboard, center console, and all four door panels on my '07 LS.
