Default 07 460 to 13 460

traded up my 2007 460 with 185k miles to CPO 2013 with 65k miles. Observations:
1) probably my imagination but the cabin seems smaller. May be that it is just a little more sporty than the 07
2) not as quiet as the 07. Engine seems to have a whine noise.
3) love the ML stereo that the 07 lacked and the NAV screen and features are nice ( didn’t have in the 07). I use phone maps for Nav so that part is outdated, but the music control is nice.
4) love the colors: pearl white with black/gray interior.
5) no wind noise. What a relief.
6) not sure yet about the operation of the little mouse like nav controller. Looks like outdated technology

so far really enjoying it. Same great ride as the 07. Not sure the value of this post, just compelled to write something down.

Happy Camper here.

Congrats. What do you think of the overall styling? The exterior has grown on me. I would now consider getting one. Modern styling but still pretty much the same LS460 from 2007. I can do a lot of diy stuff on my 2008. A 2013+ should be just as easy to work on. I'd get a rwd one for lower cost, smoother drivetrain, lower weight and the extra horsepower. The only obstacle is finding one in the Northeast

Style lines are really nice on the exterior. Mine has a gray pinstripe offsetting the oysters pearl color for an extra touch. Inside is nicely appointed and I like the stitched leather and dare I say, no sticky arm rests - huge.

Not quite as quiet as the 07 but I probably need better road tires. The ones on the 13 are a little noisy.

I think the 2013's and up are great values in the luxury used car market. The LS460 is such a nice reliable vehicle to begin with, but when you add all the improvements of the 2013? Make sure it hard to beat.

I am lucky enough to have a 2008 swb with rare Comfort plus package with Leather stitched armrest and reclining rear seats. Lexus finally came to their sense in 2013 and made all LS460s with leather door arm rests.

There's a TSB for transmission whine in the 2013 - 2015 cars.

Thanks for your views. I have a feeling we will see more posts like this as the 13+ prices come down more. I plan to own my 2007 for a few more years but, feel I will go to the next in the line when I move on.

I’m definitely checking into that TSB. I’m a little disappointed the dealer did not perform that in the CPO work over. Thanks for the heads up that a TSB on it was out there.
