Auto Leveling Height Sensor Faulty?
Hi guys - I'm reaching out in hope anyone can help out on this issue./ I own a 2007 LS460L since new without problem until now. I hit on a blown truck tires on my way back from vacation and notice a loud bang underneath. Nothing seems out of place as I got out and checked the front bumper and the underneath at that time. A couple day later, I notice my front driver side was tilted up higher compared to the passenger side. I then had the car on ramps and found the small bracket to the connecting rod that connected to the auto leveling height sensor bent. I then removed the sensor plug, removed the connecting rods, straighten out the bracket and put them back together. Had the car back downed on ramps and restarted the car. Upon the car getting started, the hydraulic pump would turn on and pumped all four suspensions to the max height level. The car has been sitting at this height since. Today, I removed the left tire, adjusted the connecting rod to higher position, removed the plug and battery terminals and left the car sit for 15mins in attempts to reset the ECU to factory's settings. Putting back everything on reversed orders and restarted the car with the doors shut,... NOTHING happens, the car is still sitting at the max height level... What would cause this issue? Is it a faulty sensor and if yes, would replacing a new sensor fix this issue without the need for computer re-calibration at a dealer? Any helps or suggestions would greatly be appreciated.

Try this to see if it goes back to normal height. Do not remove the bolt that connects directly into the sensor. I made that mistake and had a hell of a time getting it work correcly. Also noticed you said you raised the rod. Try lowering the rod by closing the gap instead. So it will lower your driver side instead of raise

Thank you K311in. Did you have your car on ramp and how did yoy gain access to the sensor/link? Did you remove the battery connector and sensor plug while working it? wondering if anyone else has ever experienced this situation and what've done to correct the issue. I will play with it some more and post what I've learned in hope this will help the next guys out as well.
I just jacked it up a bit to reach the rod. Maybe try removing the lower bolt. The one connecting to the frame and manually pull it down restarting the car in between to see if it helps lower the car. A little movement can make a hugh difference in the car lowering. So make small increments and restart the car. Wait a couple minutes to see if there is any change. It also helps to be on a level surface. I dont disconnect the battery. When I say pull down I mean to leave that lower bolt off and just push it up or pull it down. No need to adjust with the threading. This is just to test if the sensor is working.

Needless to say I owe you big time for your response k311in. I eventually got my problem fixed today amid countless attempts adjusting both the connecting links and sensor with no results the first few time. The worst part about the whole deal was that I had to jack up the car, removed the wheel to get to the sensor and link many times and the sensor did nothing neither raising nor lower it down one bit. Just when I was about to give up ( and ready to fork out the money for a new sensor and labor), I decided to play around a bit with the sensor. Took the sensor off completely from the frame and disassembled it. Sprayed clean the whole housing and put them back together. Connected it back to the frame, plugged the sensor cable back in and prior to reconnect all the links, turned the sensor *** clockwise a few time. Reconnected all the link except for the last bolt that connect to the steering column. Installed the wheel and lowered it down on even surface and restart the car. What a different it made, the sensor kick in and the car lower down to the normal height now. Took it out for a spin and car wash and the car response normally. Lesson learned, the sensor can get stuck by dirt and erosion with time, and a good clean would do the trick. I'm very happy with how it looks and responses now and most importantly, save myself a couple thoudsand.

I just did the same today (tried to loosen the bolt on the connector) to gain better access while repairing sway bar links. Now the Check AFS light is on and the front end air suspension is bottomed out. Any suggestions? How did you fix your mistake? Thanks.
