Default "height high"

What exactly does pressing this button - and having the indicator on do?
I've read page 303 in my owner's manual..but?

Thanks ahead of time.

It just raises the car roughly one inch. I believe the reason for it is for rougher or gravel road or snow, etc. for additional ground clearance. I know some people use it to make it easier to get in and get out. Personally I find it hard to figure out why/how that was such an important feature to add on the car. I could understand if it could both raise and lower for driver preferences but.......

Agreed, I've never had an actual situation that required Height High. Some others have found it useful to clear parking curbs or steep driveways. I have only used the feature once or twice for show or to test it. Surprisingly, that .8" difference does make it noticeably easier to exit the car, but I'm not going to regularly wait 30-45 seconds each time I want to get out of my car. On a different note, some SUVs/Crossovers only have 1-2" additional ground clearance than a standard height LS. I find it hard to believe that is all the differnce needed for "off roading" in those other vehicles.

Thanks - I'll have to check that out tomorrow.
Reading the manual makes it sound like it disables the auto leveling.
I know in my LX I can raise the ride height for off road clearance
I didn't realize my F Sport sort of has the same thing

The importance to me lies in the fact that the car automatically lowers itself at sustained speed above 65. If the roads you're on have any major dips or bumps, losing that 1" of height can be a bit dangerous depending on the suspension setting (Sport, Normal, Comfort) you want. Also, any change to the height of the vehicle changes the ride characteristics of each of those settings. Pressing the 'Height High' button negates this automatic lowering of the vehicle.

It also works great if you have a height controller, are already riding lowered, and don't want the car to lower further at speed. Short trips on the toll road or a quick entry and exit of the interstate don't require me to screw with the controller, I can just use the height button.

What else would "HEIGHT HIGH" have meant?
