07 LS460 with the dreaded P0012 code
First things first. I just discovered this club and think it's great. Definitely plan to help other members however i can. Bought my LS with 30K miles and it now shows 130K. Always did my own maintenance and it's only been to the dealer for a water pump while under warranty. CEL, trac control light and VSC warnings came on so I cleared the P0012 code and hoped for the best. Warnings came on again about 500mi later so i changed the oil and filter, with my normal 5-20 Mobil 1. after running the car for 100mi with Sea Foam added to it. I then ordered the OCV and filter, plugs and air filters. I changed almost everything, as well as cleaned the MAS while I had the intake system apart, but I can't find where the oil control filter is located. It's running great, but want to get this filter changed ASAP in case that's the cause. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oil control filter? Can't say I know what that is.
Keep in mind that these engines use two ways to adjust cam timing, a hydraulic unit on the exhaust side and an electric motor on the intake (or do I have that backwards??). So it may not be oil related at all, the electric motor may need replacement.

Thanks doublebase for the reply. I'll look into the electric motor after i get the oil control filters changed. There are two and the Lexus part # is 15678-46020. I'm going to stop by my local Lexus dealer and see if they'll print me a location diagram.

Update on code p0012. Turns out this code was caused by the gas at Costco. Didn't believe it the first time, but is has now happened twice. After filling up the second time, CEL, check VSC... lights came on within 2min of driving. I ran that fuel with the warning lights on until near empty. Filled it up with Mobil high test and the warnings all cleared themselves. Coincidence? Maybe, but I'll never put that fuel in my LS again.

You might want to let Costco know about that. They're supposed to be a top-tier brand of gas, but it could be a supplier issue or someone at the store pulling a scam. We just had a local Exxon station exposed for selling low-grade gas with no additives. I'm sure Exxon corporate wasn't happy about that.

One fill up after about 100miles the Cell would come on...let it run low, change to Shell... after about 50 miles it would go off...
Never get gas at Costco or BJ's..... You get what you pay for.

P0012
I had the code pop up after some spirited driving. It would occasionally go away but always reappear after 2 days. Replaced the drivers side camshaft motor and all is good. When i took off the old motor and turned it by hand it was loud and rough not quiet and smooth like the new one.
