Default Nice deal on a 2015 LS460L

I've been continuing my search for the perfect used LS460L, as I know several others are actively doing at this time, and I ran across what appears to be a pretty attractive deal on a 2015. This one is a bit out of my target price range this time, but I thought perhaps others who are in the market could benefit from this one (or maybe I'll talk myself into increasing my price range to get this tasty deal ;-).

Here's the link to the car: https://www.hendricklexuskansascity....-MO/3127835013

It's a 1-owner 2015 LS460L AWD that's being offered by a Lexus dealer as a CPO car. It has 64K miles (that's a lot of miles for < 3 years of ownership!) and looks to be in great shape from the photos. It's not overly loaded, but does have the DRCC/Pre-collision package and the ML stereo. The price started at $49K and has dropped to $43K. I'm actually a bit confused by this low price; when I look it up on KBB, I get a CPO average price of $50,190. NADA lists a CPO price for this car at $53k... Even average trade-in price from KBB is just over $40k.

The car has a clean Carfax, but has virtually zero Lexus service history, which is a little suspicious. Am I missing something here? Why hasn't this car sold for this amazing price?

Is this perhaps foreshadowing of a major drop in value for the late-model LS460s now that the new models are in showrooms?

There actually seems to be a major disconnect right now between KBB, NADA, and CarGuru's IMV. For the car I mentioned above, CarGurus believes the car is still Overpriced by nearly $3000, while KBB has it at $49K and NADA has it at $53k. Weird! I wonder if the CarGurus prices are more reflective of the true market right now than the KBB and NADA prices?

It really does seem that the prices on the late-model LS460s are quickly dropping right now. CPO 2013 LS460L AWDs now can be had in the low $30s... Hmmmm... Maybe I'd better wait a bit longer to bite to see if the prices continue to fall into this summer.

As it's a CPO, you get the two year/unlimited mile warranty extension and you can get an additional 5year/unlimited mile warranty from Toby Rivers at Lexus of Shreveport for $2600. This will take you to 2026 - full Lexus coverage, zero deductible, bumper to bumper, roadside assistance! If you are serious, go down there and drive the car. If everything is OK, Jump at it!

That car happens to be almost exactly what I asked Hendrick Lexus Kansas City to find for me in 2014 - a fairly basic white LS460 or LS460L without air suspension but with PCS and DRCC. I was told that what I wanted was not available in the Hendrick dealer network so I gave up.

Maybe the original owner had this car maintained by the same independent Lexus repair shop that I used since it opened in around 1996. It's only about two miles away from Hendrick and provides infinitely better service than Hendrick Lexus does. I went to Hendrick Lexus for service only when I was desperate such as when the indie shop couldn't get my car in for service or repairs. My Lexus owner friends and LS-owning next door neighbor used the same indie repair shop and avoided Hendrick.

Maybe it hasn't sold due to it not having a few more features like power rear seats and air suspension. Or maybe the miles are too high. 65,000 miles is considered to be very high for a 3-year old vehicle. Regardless of that, this would be exactly the LS I would would want if I was in the market for a vehicle and wanted to go back to driving a sedan. Like a lot of people these days, I'm not wanting sedans much anymore.

If I wasn't on crutches for a few more weeks, I might hobble into Hendrick and take a look at this car. Hendrick Lexus Kansas City is really in Merriam Kansas and just over two miles away from my house.
