Default Might be coming back to an LS soon

So I've been without an LS for a while now. I may be coming back soon though. I am planning on doing something a little bizarre though. I am going to look for the cheapest, highest mileage one (that is in decent shape) and try to see how many miles I can get out of it.

Reason is, I don't drive in a car much anymore. I'm always on my motorcycles, or driving my work car. My work is literally less than 3 miles from my house. I would only need it for that short distance when I don't take my work car home, and short drives to the store. I think it'll be cool to see peoples expressions when I tell them the mileage on the car too. I may be crazy, but it'll get me back in an LS, and I'll have fun with it.

I was going to buy another LS400 like I had, but given the age, they really seem to be having issues here and there. I went from a 400 to a 460, so I skipped the whole 430 phase. I was looking at those, but everyone says the 460 is better, so why not just skip it. Thoughts?

Oh and I have 2 other cars, One only has 28k miles. This would be for fun.

If you go that route you'll probably end up spending a lot to straighten it out. For what you end up spending you could have just gotten one with less mileage and more up to date maintenance done. It could be an extreme money pit and ownership experience will not be "fun"

Btw I've owned 2 LS430 which were great but seem soulless and bland. I LOVE my 2008 LS460 with comfort plus package. Best overall Lexus I have owned so far. Even cooler with the 19inch touring wheels.
It is fully sorted out and drives like new, I usually do a feeler sale on Craigslist around tax season to see what I can get for my cars. I always get the price I want. I may test the price at $17-$17500 but I am afraid someone might show me the money ! I want to enjoy it for at least another year. I have 93k miles on it and put about 4k miles on it a year.

the 430 interior is much better quality IMO then the 460, but aside from that the 460 is the overall winner.

The 430 has a much more floaty, soft and smooth ride, if that's what your looking for , for me I prefer the extra power and the slightly more sporty feel of the 460.

I would have no issue getting any LS460 regardless of mileage. Let us know what you find!

I agree about the 430 interior when discussing 07-12 cars, but not 13-17 cars. As for the ride, it is softer and floater but the 460 feels a lot more sure footed and confidence inspiring when cornering, which reminds me actually of the LS400. I would say the 460 rides 95% as well, especially a LWB car with air, while feeling 50-75% more sure footed in any kind of curve.
