Default Vaistech - easier with touchscreen or remote interface?

Looking to purchase either a 2012 or 2013 LS 460 SWB AWD. Trying to decide between a 2012 with touchscreen or a 2013 redesign with 12 in screen but remote interface, which I'm hesitant about. Really wanted BSM which was one of my must haves but may give it up for the touchscreen. Two questions:

1) Will almost definitely install the Vaistech ULM-61 nav unlock for integration with my Android smartphone. For those with experience with this system, would the Vaistech interface be easier to control with touchscreen or remote touch?

2) I know there are aftermarket systems to add BSM (Gosher's) but has anyone done this and how well does the aftermarket work? Can you get the RCT (rear cross traffic) feature with it? I'm concerned about what it would entail to add this in terms of changing the look of the car (drilling holes in the bumper, adding the visual alert, etc). I would want it to be as seamless as possible (Yes, I would get it professionally installed.)

Appreciate any feedback from those with experience with these two items! TIA!
