Default Help!

I have the same problem, I replaced everything and it persists and seems to get louder, did you get any resolution? Did a brake kit, check the caliper bolts, and have replace the entire suspension for the most part, oddly it goes away brakes are pressed but there is nothing loose or missing within the brake system that we can find, is there anything else that could be related to breaking that is not obvious since that kills the noise

I have a lot of miles on my car and the standard Lexus response is old car should have rattles, or go buy a new one, I don’t buy that, it’s a well-made car and that should be a solvable problem.

He was very nice and has worked for Lexus 25+years. It is just frustrating as I was out with a buddy a week ago and he says to me what the hell is that rattling noise? isn't this a $80k+ car my Honda civic doesn't rattle like this! I mentioned to the regional guy this is likely my last LS as I am 2 for 2 with suspension noises/issues and he said that's interesting to hear I am sure corporate wont like to hear that! Ah well she still drives nicely and if I turn the ML up to 50 I don't hear a thing! Will post another update when I know something else. Ciao

Default Brakes applied

Would pressing the brakes make a noise like this stop?

I truly believe if there is any movement/travel with the upper control arm connected to the (knuckle?) then there will be noise

Default Brakes

I just had my entire suspension replaced and I got a new noise from the front right, it goes away when the brakes are applied even the slightest bit to where the card is not even slow down, could this be it? Not able to visualize him I had exactly what would happen with the brakes.

Don't be surprised if you can only turn to another notch every bit makes a difference.
I've done a lot of driving since changing my struts and retightening the control arms. The knocking is gone.

Guys i had similar problem on a LS600H L from 2008 , all the arms , bushes and joints on the front but still had the rattle noise audible only at low speeds .
I have tried it with the brake pedal pressed and noise was gone so i decided to change the brake fitting hardware kit and voila , sorted the rattle .

Try taking off your front underneath splash guard pan. These pans rattle and sound like a suspension noise. The pan really doesn’t accomplish much anyway as you will see. Also there are small covers there in front on the corners that are separate from the splash guard. Secure these with drilled holes and sheet metal screws. This made a huge difference eliminating fantom suspension noise in my front end which is completely new.

Giving an update since it has been 6+ months. This is an abbreviated version as the full length version would be a tough read. so after several more times in shop + more interactions with east coast regional guy + finally after everyone telling me there is nothing more they can do + sending it finally to Lexus buyback group and being told politely to pound sand the only option I had left was to go to Lexus arbitrator 3rd party outfit. Honestly, I have spent a lot of time and effort to now and I didn't feel like doing anymore. their last response was the car is fine even though they cannot tell me what the noise is go figure? I called the head of Lexus quality and asked him if his car had a noise that nobody could find the source of would he feel comfortable that something wasn't going to go wrong? As expected crickets on the phone from him. when he finally spoke I asked "look this is the 2nd LS I have had issues with all I would like now is something to help me get out of this car with a noise worse that a ford escort". I want to stay with Lexus so lets figure this out and get me into a GS and move forward. last words from him sorry go to the 3rd party arbitrator if you feel this is what you need to do. so its time to move on from the Lexus/toyota family for my car at least as we just got the wife a 17' highlander last November. New vehicle has been secured and the LS will wander off to the sunset later this week. Hopefully whoever buys it can live with the noises but someone will be getting a well taken care of ride! Have enjoyed the time here and got much good info along the way. Ciao for now.
