One might encounter a completely different, and unwelcome, effect from sitting in the parked car or in very slow traffic (my experience is the Van Wyck Expressway).
The exhaust gas, released under the floor (illegal in every state if OEM, grounds for failing inspection in some) contains CO and CO2, and will give you quite a headache, or put you to sleep. With any luck, the volume exiting will be continuously flushed away before it penetrates the floor in any quantity.

Meh....these cars are far too air tight to worry about such a small leak. The car idling next to you on either side is putting out a ton of exhaust fumes.

Yes, the sound is being created by the exhaust leak. This mod is only different from drilling holes pre-muffler in that it is easily reversible.
As to exhaust in the cabin, I had the same thought as well. BUT considering this is the LS we're talking about, one of the quietest gas engine vehicles on the road, I would think that all of the engineering that went into keeping outside sounds outside would also keep the exhaust gases out of the vehicle.
The one thing you would likely need to watch is your A/C recirculation. Pumping in outside air when sitting idle might cause some "drowsiness" :P

I think you mean FRESH mode. And as roadfrog mentioned, you'll get a lot more exhaust from the vehicle in front of you, than you will your own vehicle.

Kitabel, I had that same thought.
I'm not overly concerned about the exhaust leak being a problem entering the car...the amount of exhaust coming through HVAC vents in stopped traffic is plenty and I'd wager my LS's floor is 100% watertight, but that state inspection thing....

Hey - reviving the thread here just to say ... if anyone is possibly on the fence, or planning on buying Exhaust Vents next week, I will be on vacation. I get orders sporadically throughout the week, so I wanted to shoot this out there. If anyone was considering to purchase, I recommend doing it from now through Friday at 4 pm. After that I will be totally off the grid. I will be taking my first cruise with the family, and working diligently on gaining back as much of the 70 pounds I've lost.

I recently had to complete a smog inspection in order to renew my registration in California. I've got double stacked Oliver vents. The guy did look a little curious during the inspection.. Flashlight shine here and shine there. Nothing to be found. When he handed me a my keys, all was said was... " Nice V8! "

And for those of you concerned about inspection, as soon as I get back from my cruise I'm going to make a "stealth" version of the Exhaust Vents. Currently, they are not very noticeable. And even if someone sees them, all they will see is some edges. They will likely not even give them a 2nd thought, just like I've been saying, and just like GR6RR experienced. After I reshape them, they will not even see the edges. So there will be NOTHING for them to point at. They will be completely hidden / stealth, and will continue let our 4.6L sing its beautiful song, while venting what exhaust escapes vertically down away from the vehicle.

Just seeing this. Yup. .I really like them. It gives the LS the perfect amount of sound to subtly remind folks it's a V8. I recommend them for sure

What I’m curious about though. Is with the vent mod- won’t it look a bit odd with this setup when the exhaust gases are diverted under your car in colder weather? It’ll look like an “exhaust leak” so to speak.
I love the sound of these but that potential visual alone makes me wary.

When it gets cold enough here in Georgia, I'll see if I can get a picture of this. I really think there's not enough exhaust flow coming through the vents to create the look you're considering. There's a "lead-in" of exhaust pipe from the engine side that extends into the tailpipe section. This lead-in does a good job of reducing exhaust flow through the vents. The vents are actually up-stream (slightly) of the exit of exhaust from the lead-in into the tailpipe. But sound waves however exit through the vents much easier than exhaust flow.

STATUS UPDATE!
The "Stealth" Exhaust Vent is designed and I will get some samples made up for testing. These will be totally hidden / discreet for those that have inspection concerns. The testing is to confirm the sound remains the same with the new shape.
There will be 2 variations for some time. The originals (no change in price), and the stealth (price undetermined).
I will post again when I've trialed and hear what they sound like. Thanks!
