LS460 with no Nav?!!
There is an Ls460 at a dealership in NY with no navigation! Seems ultra rare. It is probably the most reliable one to have many years from now when electrical stuff starts to fail.

Meh.
The nav on my wife's '02 RX300 is still just fine, no dropped pixels, it never acts strangely, in fact, that car/pseudo-truck is rock solid and it has every option but the Coach package and a trailer hitch.
At 15 years old, I'm unconcerned with another 15 years.

I thought I found the perfect 1998 GS400 a couple year back but it had Nav. It was like I was playing Atari Passed on it.

I don't think I've read about one of these failing. I do remember a member saying his was smashed by his SO.

MY08 has no NAV and I like it, you don't have to worry about updating the map every year which will cost couple hundred bucks easy.
I just use one of the TomTom GPS and free lifetime update.

The LS is a luxury vehicle and the nav was once an expensive option but not standard on most vehicles. I've seen many used 430's without the nav but only the 460's in pictures and they must be very rare

I too wouldn't be worried about the nav. My old 03 ES is still in the family with almost 200k miles and the screen is fine.

The screen is one of the most enjoyable parts of the car for me. It displays way more than the nav.
This reminds me of the lady that stuck her suction cup Garmin to the screen and ruined it. The Lexus dealer wanted 13k to fix it. Search for the story its on this site.

I like the screen mainly because of the maintenance displays...love that thing. I have so many different things I keep track of on there...oil, coolant, belts, tires, brakes, brake fluid, tranny fluid, on and on. It's a great tool to have.

From a safety standpoint, I like having the screen because of the backup camera. Without it, one can't see anything in the lower rear area of the car. When I back up, my gaze fluctuates between the rear window and the backup camera display.
