Default Help me pick!!!

Folks,

I terribly miss my LS600hl!!! Looking at two options:

1. 2008 LS460L for $20k http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...delCode1=LS460

2. 2010 LS460l for $25.8k http://www.ebay.com/itm/252898867129...&ul_noapp=true

I drove the 2008 and it is in immaculate condition and just came out of certification. Have to fly to see the 2010 and not crazy about the color

Any advice on which one to pick??

The 2008L doesn't look bad for the asking price, but try to get your hands on the service history before making any decisions as these early models had some issues that were fixed in later years.

I would choose the '10 due to the lower mileage and its the newest. It also have the L & R rear window shades and radar cruise control. Regardless you are getting a beautiful and reliable automobile.

Why are you limiting yourself to just those two? If you're will to spend mid-$20k and to travel some to look at one then there are plenty to look at. Have you looked at CarMax for that price?

I don't have a 460 nor have I had one but I was thinking about getting one and the research I did it seemed like the 2010 models had some of the bugs fixed in them. Then again your talking ~$6k difference in the price of the cars. I would look up the service history on both of them on the Lexus site to see if that helps to make a decision.

Obviously it's going to be up to you and what fits in your budget. I personally love the Silver color but I don't like the color of the wood interior. On the flip side the champagne color is just fair in my book but the interior is much better looking with the brown wood trim. All of that is personal preference though.

Thanks!

problem with the 10 it is 700 miles away and experience with dealers in SFL is not very good. Would be great if a CL member down there can spare few mins to look at for me!!!

2010. But if you don't like the color, wait - another will show up soon.

I don't really care for Gold or Tan cars although I have seen 2 tan LS's for a good price around me in that color. I would skip both due to both having the air suspension which is eventually going to be a huge repair bill, I would look for one without air suspension but of the 2 I would go local and pick the 2008 silver one and try to negotiate down to 20K to 22K, it looks nicer, flying sucks to just look at a car you may not end up buying.

Personally, I'd wait for the car you want in a color that you're not "not crazy about". It's too bad, because the 2010 has DRCC. Both cars seem to have the Mark Levinson system. Both have the air suspension. Neither have the semi-aniline leather and powered, climate-controlled rear seats you probably had in your LS600h.

PPI showed 2008 has bad control arms. Owner doesn't want to budge on price or do repair. Deal fell apart... don't know how I would ever buy a car site unseen and uninspected ...
