Default Day mode for display on 2014?

OK, I've read the manual at least 10 times and the "Day Mode" option on my 2014 display just isn't there. I go to "Menu" > "Display" > and there should be an option for "Day Mode" (according to the owner's manual) but it's just blank where that option should be.

Anybody else have this option (it's on every other navigation-equipped Lexus/Toyota vehicle I've owned). Or is the manual incorrect?

OK, well eventually came up with an answer on the 4th Gen GS forum. Apparently, the headlights MUST BE ON for this option to show up on the screen - WTF!!!???

I guess it's a case of FTFM ("Forget the F___ing Manual"), unless it's my Chinglish when I'm reading it!

If you think about it, it makes sense. With the headlights off the screen is always in day mode, so why would you need to select day mode?

Well, why hide the option? Why not just leave it there for everyone to find when they want to?

Cleans up the display, doesn't give people confusing options that aren't available.
