Possibly changing the LS

Possibly changing the LS
I currently have a 2007 LS460 with a just a little over 100k, it doesn't have a lot of features other than the GPS and ML. I've had the car for almost a year and love it so far. I've been researching cars for my wife to upgrade to and I'm thinking to change my car some time in the middle of next year. I'm falling for the M56/Q70. Definitely has to be a V8. Just want to hear everyone's thoughts.

What budget do you have in mind (if any) and we can help work backwards from there? Me myself, I've thought of an A8 and Jaguar XJ (there's a thread I posted on this forum on the XJ) both with strong V8's as a different spin on the luxobarge variant.

Don't know anything about Infiniti products. Come to think of it, no one I know owns one. Hmmm. Never thought about that. But, luxury cars are a personal opinion. If you're looking for a Chevy, then yeah the buyer can look for the best deal and not necessarily for the love of the car. So, it really is your decision since it's something you'll live with for some time. Good luck!

The M56/Q70 are good looking cars, especially post refresh (the Q70). Theres also now a Q70L which is more similar to the SWB LS inside. I drove several new Q70s and Q70Ls before I got the LS in an attempt to save cost, and I had looked at the M35 before I got the GS in 2012.
The M/Q70/L is nowhere near as refined as the LS, even with the V8. They ride harder, but don't really handle any better, nowhere near as quiet or smooth and refined in drive or operation. Its a more "guttural" car, its more dramatic than the LS. Their tech is also very behind, even compared to an also behind 13-17 LS460.
I would consider one over a GS, but back to back with the LS there is really no comparison IMHO. The M/Q70 is a segment below the LS and it feels that way,

I Just came from the auto show. The 2017 LS460 just sat in a corner with no fanfare. The Genesis G90 was covered with people and very impressive. No 2018 LS500 in the building. There was a 2018 LC 500 there on a pedestal you could not get close to.

The Ultimate package gets you the power and massaging rear seats too. It comes with the V8.
The fanfare is because of the price as you mentioned. That $72k is $20-30,000 cheaper than comparable cars. Remember it's optioned base like a loaded LS460L. It's every bit as much car too.

Roadfrog mentioned the same about G90 on the other thread. When I checked their website and configured 5.0 AWD with Ultimate package, prices tops at $72k. BTW, Ultimate package is nothing more than few things such as LED HL, VRGS steering, some other goodies. No major technology features are listed in that package. Its the only option to choose. Why so much fanfare for G90?.Am I missing something here?.

I still don't get it. A fully 'loaded' G90 at $72k in my mind is just a baseline car. I didn't see massaging rear seat on their website or listed in 'Ultimate' package. 2016 Avalon will have these said 'Ultimate' features in their base model. Why pay $72k get G90?
Just came back from dealership after dropping my car for a service. They have last 2016 LS460L AWD listed for $68k. In LS world, I would say its base model but has all those listed as in 'Ultimate' package in G90!.
Added : For 72k, I would drive certified MB S550 4Matic with less than 15k miles but loaded with technology such as attention assist, radar cruise and pedestrian monitoring, Virtual vision for night driving and 360 deg view. These are for 2015 model.

I cannot speak for the G90, but my best friend purchased a Genesis R-spec Sedan when they first came out and I was impressed. Quiet, smooth ride and well optioned standard. The 430hp on tap was nice as well. He since upgraded to a S550, but had no issues with Hyundai.

To be comparable the LS has to be an L, has to be AWD, has to have the UL package, has to have the advanced tech radar cruise/pcs package, LED headlamps, adaptive suspension, etc. That is not a baseline, or even commonly equipped LS460L

If you drive it and you take some time to look at what comparable cars in this segment actually cost new you'll see the value proposition of the G90. Its every bit as good or better than an LS460 for instance for significantly less money. Remember that a totally base LS460 (not an L) starts at $72k. For a lease, a similar LS460 is going to be ~ $1,150 a month even with all those discounts. A G90 ultimate can be had for ~ $700. Thats $450 month cheaper. Similar 750 is going to be $1,200, similar S550, $1,350-$1,400. So thats $550 a month cheaper than a similar 750, and $700-$750 a month cheaper than an S550. Thats a lot lol. To put it in perspective, a loaded G90 LWB flagship costs what a loaded 5 Series, or E Class, or even a GS costs. Remember too that G90 includes all the maintenance for the lease, all nav updates, satellite radio for the whole lease, service concierge where they come get my car at my home or office and drop off a G90 loaner...On the LS or the S I'm paying for all the maintenance, and none of them universally include all of those items as well as the service concierge.
You also have to recognize that the G90 V8 outperforms the LS460 significantly, really the TTV6 is more similar, and that AWD is only $70k, and is leasable in the low $600s. How can one not see the value proposition?!? Thats less than I was paying for my GS350.
This is a 2017 LS460 optioned like that $72k ultimate G90 V8:
IMHO, for the sort of car I like, which is a big comfortable V8 flagship car, the savings of the G90 are almost too big to ignore. How much more is something being a "Lexus", or "BMW" or "Mercedes" worth? This car hangs in there with all of them as a car, all it lacks is the panache of the brand. Is that worth $400+ a month more as a leasing customer? Really hard to say it is.

once you have filet mignon your going to look back and say chop meat doesn't compare
nothing like an ls with a good suspension from the areas of the country that don't batter the front suspension with wear
