Thank You. After reading posts on this site and Sienna Chat I agree map updates don’t provide a lot of value for the money, I would still do it for the right price which my dealer doesn’t have. When I get around to it I may call my Toyota dealer that services my 2013 Sienna and inquire about discount pricing if I did both the Sienna and LS460 map updates with them. I still have a lot to learn about my LS, among them is reading all the posts about iPhone mirroring options (solves for map updates) and what techstream is all about.
Trying to decipher the map version from the screen shot below (was emailed to me so assume it’s the right info screen but doesn’t say map version 17.1 like I expected it to..). Does the 17. under operating system indicate 17.1 map which I think is latest?
I use SiriusXM maps for about $55 a year and it gets me where I need to go in Dallas. I also use Google maps through Bluetooth, works super. 2007 LS460. By the way, I also put KYB shocks and struts on. Rides like a 430 with 460 sport suspension.
How did you upload the version 18 to your Nav System in Your LS?
Dennis
You need to buy an unopened virgin update. The car writes the VIN to the SD card when a new card is first inserted. Thats why you cant use one thats from another car. I just inserted the new update and it worked fine.
What year is your LS? On my 2010 LS 460L there is no SD Card slot that I am aware of. I have to take mine into the dealership and they upload it to the internal HD?

2015. Im not sure when they started using SD cards.
I wish the 2010's had that feature. When you take it into the dealership for a map update they don't even give you a kiss. I have version 14 which was the last time I had it updated. So I updated from 9 to 14. Lexus had a deal I think it was $99 for the update plus an hour labor $108 so out the door for $207
