Okay I give up!! (I want music!)
Where in the heck do I upload my own music to the HDD so its stored?????? I am on page 473 and I have gone page by page so I don't over look it. I give up! My finger hurts from scrolling so damn much!

I found your original thread. Here's something I found that should help: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...io-system.html

Thank you, I have always hated the search function on this style of website (the toyota 4runner forum runs the same setup essentially) I can never seem to phrase things correctly. Wow I can directly burn a CD. Kind of a bummer if I really only had USB sticks around. Maybe I havent read far enough into the Owners manual or perhaps the words became a blur after so much scrolling on my computer screen.

Well, the '07 didn't have USB, as you are aware. The intent was to transfer only CDs to the HDD - you can get about 100 on there which I guess they thought was plenty in 2007. You can burn CDs and then load them but the metadata details aren't there unless the CD is already in the (2007) Gracenote database.

But in any event, you'll just get a list of tracks and "unknown disk" if it isn't a pre-Gracenote update commercial CD.

Anyway to hack a USB drive in so we can use that for music like the newer ones can ?
Back to the topic at hand....When I burn a disc for the car, I assume when it's on the HD it will keep song name, time, etc. Will it pull data from CD text, or is it limited to the gracenote db ?

Oops, i do have 10 with hdd navi (updated via a usb gimmick that costs like a good tv set). They do load an 'update bundle' containing grace and nav updates in one batch.

I forgot where in the settings specifically but if you go through the menus, there is a portion that tells you exactly what DB and Nav versions you have.

Is there a 3rd party way to get meta data into the Lexus ? Or is this the ONLY way ?
Can one "pull out the hard drive" drop in a PC, drop tons of music on it, add meta data and put it back in with all meta data ?
I wonder if there was ever a discussion on this, as I am sure someone else has looked into this angle. or even taking out the 30gb drive and dropping a 120gb for more music and editing the data base for newer music.

Dam, I so wanted this feature....sigh... Let's just hope it has some older CDs I have shows data.... Where does it pull this data from ? Is it the CD label ? If I take a album and burn the whole album to disc, will this work or does it need the orignal CD to work ?
So I have to spend $200+ to get a Navi upgrade so I can see Meta data on newer CDs ? sigh...
