Using a Techstream to lower your air-ride height
Hows this holding up for you after a couple of weeks? Height remaining where you set it?
I just received my software and cable today and got it installed and talking to the car. Changed a few of the Customize settings but didn't dive too deep. My girls both have volleyball tomorrow but I'm hoping to knock out my first oil change and play with the height a bit.
I'll screenshot my initial settings for you, and may even go through and screenshot step-by-step as I play with it to complete your write-up.

Any notes are more than welcome!
Any tips on how to get it to save the settings after leaving the active test? Am I supposed to be adjusting something elsewhere?
Every time I would exit active test the compressor would kick back on and raise the car back up to original height. Got it looking like this but couldn't save it

In Height Adjust, drop each corner no more than -0.8" and see what happens. There's a theory this is the max, but I have my fronts dropped 1.1". Personally, I think the 0.8" limitation is because it refers to the Height High function.
Wait!!! Can you take a screen shot of your original height? I need that...
I'll take my computer out to the parking lot, later...I keep the Techstream cable in the car...and see what it says. Regardless, I'll see if there's something special and take notes.
You know how it is...you do something 20 times over the course of 90 minutes, and you forget about steps. This is even more true if you've done it over multiple days.
I kind of want to raise the rear about 1/3 of an inch, I think.
Srs, this is no different than using the controller, does the exact same thing.
I did notice that the version of TS that I'm running says it was decom'd Sept 2016. It tries to connect to update servers but of course I don't have a login. I can connect the current version 30 times before it bricks I guess. Then I'll have to reinstall.
I do have the original settings screenshotted, I'll post that later from my PC. The thing is, I seem to be unable to adjust anything except thru the active test by holding the left or right arrow. In what screen are you adjusting the 'Height Adjust' numbers?

I can't seem to get the 'Height Adjust' numbers to change, they're all within ~+/- 0.1-2. I can get the 'After Height Adjust' numbers to drop when letting air out of each corner, but as I said, the second I close the 'Active Test' window for any corner I'm working on the compressor kicks on and brings it back to normal height.
Really hoping I (or you) missed a step somewhere.

Toy spent literally hundreds of millions of dollars to make this car what it is. So, now some teenager 'finds out' that messing with the essential systems is 'fun' and 'cool' and 'to brag about'/'grals lvoe owl dires!!1'. Don't even want to go into details, comparing ultra-pro toylex engineers and those...people.
The height calibrations are there NOT TO LOWER THE FRICKIN' DEIR! Whole lot of systems are working in unison, tuned as such by multimillion dollar co. And you think you are 'that much smarter'? No. Leave it be! Or, if you are REALLY smart, use the Techdoc/TIS and calibrate your airsus according to the diagram (it's there). Thank me later.
OR
Go ahead, gut your modules with techstream, lower dat shiznit etc, but then don't bleat about 'oooh i found out that one shock for the LS is 1000+usd! should've known better not to mess with the car....'.
In a nutshell.
Dudes, i've literally owned dozens of cars, i also operate automotive business, successful one. Go ahead, ridicule and contest me again - i don't care really
I only want what's best for the lovely LS's and their owners. Sounds like your parents? Good, your parents wish you good as well.
ps. 'ooooh but datasystems sells those controllers! they do same!'.
no you moron! these also alter the sensor datastreams and utilize some proprietary software not to mess up the lexus' operations! and btw japs don't give a rats **** about some yankee prematurely ruining his ride (which is also out of warranty due to rogue techstream access). check out their salaries (imaginary conversation)
pps. 'ooooooh but what bad can happen?? it's only the RIDE HEIGHT!!!' NO YOU CRETIN, your wheel 'height' sensors are also 3-axis accelerometers, that feed abs, pcm, ect etcetcetc! the car 'feels' the road that way! (cont'd)

As horrible as it sounds, sliiiiight lowering (say 5mm a side) via a link adjustment is less criminal than gunning for techstream as soon as you get your 10usd chinese ahem cable. Still, geometry will be out of whack, hindering esp system, but you CAN do a show run or something (before setting the links back to factory setup).
