my 08 has gridlines. Have you tried the settings in your nav unit? I believe that's where i saw the settings?

If I recall correctly (it's over a year now ), my 2012 did not have grid lines. Roadfrog's car is Canadian-spec, and they always seem to get the nicest and luxury features before the US-spec cars. As to whether they could be turned on, I doubt it. If that were doable, dealers would be offering it for a small fee, or someone on CL would have reported activating it.
Gbp is correct that 2013 and 2014 LS have only static grid lines. I know 2016 has dynamic lines, probably 2015 also.
Maybe I'm misunderstanding your definition of "gridlines". My gridlines are on either side of the display and one across to signify when I should stop. They don't change/turn though when I turn my steering wheel like newer LS's do.

Exactly, roadfrog. US-spec LSs do not show any lines on the reverse backup screen until 2013 MY. And beginning 2015(?), one set of lines moves when the steering wheel is turned.
This video shows a older Lexus (not US) where an option to display the grid lines is available, and the grid lines are dynamic. It looks like an older LS or LX (pre-2013), in which case it is pretty amazing because Lexus technology had the ability to display dynamic grid lines but never made it available in their US flagship until 2015. It makes no sense why they would hold back features in their largest and most lucrative market.

Wait...
So if am understanding you correctly (based off of what is seen in the youtube captured photo) your LS displays the green lines and not the yellow/red line combo, correct?
Op: Is your vehicle from CAN?
