If everyone walked away unharmed that is the most important point. The rest is just stuff.

DITTO!

So now the question is do you buy a 2017, an older used one, or wait for the new 2018? Inquiring minds want to know.

My goodness so glad everyone is ok. That looks nasty! But walking away unscathed is the most important thing. Good luck with the next vehicle.

My vote is to go for the '18, be the first of us to try it out and provide all the feedback regarding the ownership experience!

As others have said, What next - A Gen 4 to replace the one you had or buy a beater until the 2018s come out???

That is way worse then the accident my wife had earlier this month. Glad you and yours are okay.... As you said, the car did it's job and a lesser vehicle could have had ambulance and hospitals needed.... Question: did the airbags deploy?

The picture is the rear end but your describe a lot of front end damage as well so that implies a massive impact from behind and getting pushed into the vehicle ahead of you..... Our car was rear only and not as severe and no front damage and the body shop is at $12K and counting. We were told it was being painted this week so hope to pick it up soon.

Keeps us posted on your experiences with insurance settlements for just the car with the hope you recover fair value, A replacement if not buying brand new is a journey as well.....

Glad you are ok. True testament to the engineers at Lexus. To take a hit like that and survive is awesome. Sad to see such a fine road machine laid to rest, but she will donate parts so others may go on!

Thank you everybody, its an awesome feeling knowing everyone really cares about each other and their vehicles on here, really the impact was crazy, hard to describe other than (Boom!!) be aware those headrests arent as soft as you think either, so like I said I won't get too much into details just yet, but when we got slammed we were regular speed in hov lane and it sent the 460 into the left wall, no airbags popped, my left tire hit first, thus breaking both control arms, bumper sensor chimes were going crazy and like a lexus the engine was still idling smooth.
