Bummer!!! Rear ended on the freeway...
They're about an inch too high off of the trunk lid line, would drive me nuts lol
It's funny when Lexus deleted the Lexus emblem in 2011 I thought I would never get used to it. Now they look odd to me with them on!

Dropped off at the body shop today for round "2".... Hopefully the time frame will not be as long as last time....
Faired a lot better on the rental this time around; the only car/sedan they had was an Infinity Q70 ("M37" before they renamed it) so while not an LS460 is a lot closer than a Sentra or a Camry.... LOL....

Recovered the car from the body shop on Thursday; excellent results and the car is good as new.....
They had the car longer than expected due to getting a brand new bumper cover that was damaged (when they opened the box). Took a couple of times to get one that was acceptable. Paint match is great; trunk raises and closes properly; backup camera and sensors checkout; all good....
Maybe for another thread, but the Infinity Q70 rental (2017) is no LS460 (not even as nice as the '01 LS430, IMO). After driving it down to Carmel on Wednesday and then back up to Sacramento to pick up the LS460 to drive home it is pretty clear to me the Lexus is superior. I know the sticker prices are not comparable but I'd suggest a CPO LS460 over a new Infinity.

Well...... The LS460 got rear ended again on Thursday (04/06/2017).....
Similar circumstance.....
Wife sitting at a red light with a Camry stopped behind her and an ATT service vehicle rams into the back of the Camry and then hits the back of her car......(She was returning from her physical therapy appointment from the accident in January...).
Lower speed impact and she is fine but the rear bumper cover is smashed/cracked and needs to be replaced at minimum. What "fun" - more insurance company claims, rental cars, and body shop visits....
We are jokingly talking "Hummer" or better yet a tank....

I had a old women plow into my side and totaled the car I was driving in early 2016, never even saw her when it happened. Then a little over a year later recently some older lady rear ended my beloved well taken care of low mileage GS430 which I saw what was about to happen in my rear view mirror but could not do anything to avoid it, she totaled it because of the age/overpriced repair costs despite damage not being too significant and still being perfectly drive able. Of course my insurance company did not give me as much for the car as a replacement will cost despite it not being my fault. The look for a replacement has been very slow but I am looking for a 4th Gen GS350 or LS460 now, the cars I see are either priced way too high or too high mileage so I am going to have to do some traveling to find a decent price which I don't want to do, PIA. I am not spending much considering what has happened/low valuation of cars if anything happens and how I am constantly avoiding accidents from poor drivers/un attentive drivers.
The wife is suggesting a lettered neon sign..... She is one of the those old school drivers that was taught to stay behind a car when stopped enough to see the car in front rear tires. It is her opinion that possibly both accidents could have resulted in her not being hit if the other drivers used that rare practice. It least she did not hit any cars in front of her which demonstrates her point. Not sure any extra signage or lighting is practical so I am hoping the law of averages are now in her favor.....
Seriously though, have you considered getting one of those flashing brake lights? They really wake up the drivers following you. Don't know if they are legal but it might be worth checking out.
Sorry to hear..
